[My arm-piece is an "original" Paul Booth design but my name, lightning bolts, cloudy mist & tribal band were all designed by Me, Myself & I] |
My fascination & passion for tattoos began when I started attending New York Hardcore shows. The band members & their loyal "underground" fans had some of the craziest, sickest -most detailed tattoos I've ever seen in my life. In fact, they are some of the sickest artwork & tats I've ever seen 'til this very day!
My very first tat was done up in college w/ my best bud — we both agreed to get them together and went to the most popular tattoo parlor in Albany. I was lucky enough to have stumbled upon a Paul Booth design — the Michael Jordan of Tattoo Artists, in the artist's portfolio.
2 & 1/2 hours later...I had an iconic Paul Booth demon-skull ripping out of my arm....it was the very first of many to come.
Honestly, I feel like I lucked-out w/ my very first ink job because many people or should I say –victims, regret their first tattooed. And so, my advice is to always do your research on what you want, the tattoo artists and the tattoo parlor — very important.)
No worries if it didn't come-out elaborate or perfect, appointment for adding colors, shading, touch-up's, etc. are all part of tattooing... ...hopefully, your next won't have to be cover-up.

TRUE KONGYWOOD STORY
Once upon a time...
...my Mom discovered my first tattoo (my Paul Booth tat) when I was washing the dishes -of all places. She became curious after snooping around — finding tons of tattoo magazines in my parents' their basement.
One day, I came back home from college -during the holidays, and lent a helping hand by washing the dishes (my parents taught me well). Anyways, she kept creeping around the kitchen (looking back on it, it was so obvious) and to my surprise, she scared the living-sh*t-out-of-me by lifting-up the sleeve on my baggy T-shirt...you see, I planned to rock baggy gear for the rest of my life when I'm around them to hide my tats....but to no avail.
Why did my Mom fall to her knees — literally breaking down in tears and cried-out in total and utter despair, "My son is in a gang {SOB} MY SON IS IN A GANG!!" (Come to think-of-it, it was a Drama Queen act of the most dramatic proportions...tactics deployed by women through-out ancient history.)
