SHOCKING & IRONIC NEWS as reported by theKONGBLOG™ — There is widespread shock and utter disbelief after a star paraplegic athlete Oscar Pistorius was arrested over the shooting of his model girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, 29, in his Pretoria home in South Africa.

There's also an outpouring of grief & sadness for the model, along with many messages of support for the 6x Paralympic champion — who has garnered public admiration & inspiration for his long battle to be allowed to compete in the Olympics.

Shock waves from the incident quickly reverberated across the world, casting a shadow over the man known as the "Blade Runner" for his achievements on prosthetic limbs.

Reeva Steenkamp was named by men's magazine FHM as of one the "100 sexiest women in the world two years running", appearing on the December 2011 of the magazine and graduating in law from the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University. She also appeared on a reality TV show in South Africa called, 'Tropika Island of Treasure 5."

The couple began dating in November 2012, frequently posted loving messages about each other on Twitter and were seen at several "high-profile" celebrity events.

Police were called to his home in gated community and found paramedics treating a 29-year-old woman w/ four gunshot wounds to the head and upper body. Unfortunately, she passed-away at the scene while officers recovered a 9mm pistol.

What the police do know is that they have been to the home before. “I can confirm that there has previously been incidents at the home of Oscar Pistorius...allegations of domestic nature...it’s a 9-mm pistol. It is a licensed firearm. It is licensed to Mr. Pistorius.”
