Sacha Baron Cohen Pranks Audience by Pushing Elderly Actress Off-Stage at Britannia Awards
Sasha Baron Cohen — the comedian brought forth sheer terror to the audience at the BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) Awards when he accidentally pushes an award presenter — an elderly woman in a wheelchair, off-the-stage.
Cohen went on-stage to accept the Charlie Chaplin Britannia Award for comedy and was presented a Chaplin-inspired cane from a woman introduced as Grace Cullington — the "oldest surviving actor to have worked with Chaplin in a silent movie."

Much to the audience's delight, Cohen parodied Chaplin's moves w/ the cane and horrifically fell into the wheelchair from behind — sending the actress and her wheelchair flying off-stage.

Cohen's practical joke left the audience gasping for air as he tried to recitate her by applying mouth-to-mouth — but to no avail.
'Grace Cullington is the oldest,..no...sorry was the oldest surviving [Chaplin co-star],' Cohen said after the all, with the audience still piecing out what happened. 'I dedicate my award to her.' |
