And The Most Talented Bird In The World Goes To...

...LYREBIRD!

Who or what is the, "Lyrebird?" This amazing bird possesses a fascinating 'natural' vocal talent — its mimicking skills may be the envy of impressionists and parrots alike.

During their courtship ritual, Australia's Superb Lyrebird is a ground-dwelling songbird w/ an uncanny ability to imitate any sound, whether natural or man-made.

In this fascinating BBC video w/ David Attenborough, listen as this amazing bird imitates not only other birds but also the shutter of a camera (including a camera w/ a motor drive), a car alarm, and even foresters w/ chainsaw.

The Superb Lyrebird gets its name because of the tail of the male bird. When the tail is raised over his head, it looks like an ancient musical stringed instrument called a lyre.
