A turbo-charged Alabama cop’s career hit a wall this week after he was busted on camera drag racing with his motorcycle while on duty.

The unidentified Montgomery police officer turned in his badge after a local biker, Lawrence Lee Spillers, posted video of the race on YouTube on Sunday, WSFA-TV reported.

The five-minute clip begins with the officer pulling up to Spillers, who was riding a sport bike, at a red light.

Spillers chatted with the officer briefly before asking the cop to race.

“I got turbo,” the cop, pointing at the motor of his Harley-Davidson, tells Spillers.

Suddenly, the light turns green and the cop speeds away from the intersection. The pair cruise through traffic before stopping at another light, where they raced again.

“For the very thing that we are out here enforcing the law, for an officer to cross that line and violate it, there’s no excuse,” the department’s police chief, Kevin Murphy, told the news station.

“I will not tolerate it and he is no longer wearing the badge.”

The cop blasted away from the intersection as the two motorcycles raced away from a traffic light.

Murphy said the officer resigned and could face charges for the wild ordeal.

“There may be a traffic violation charge brought against this former officer for drag racing and the elements are there — one just has to look at the video and see for themselves,” he said.

But Spillers said he didn’t see why the cop should be punished for enjoying a nice day on two wheels.

“I think the officer was just trying to have fun,” he said. “I don’t think he should be charged with anything and I don’t think he should have lost his job.”
