Mike Tyson Goes Crazy On Canadian News Anchor

Mike Tyson went ballistic — "live" "on-air" via a Canadian television show in Canada (duh) but things went sour (think: Air Heads Xtreme Sour Belts) immediately after the host blatantly brought-up the former heavyweight champion’s conviction for sexual assault.

·   ·   ·
CP24 news anchor Nathan Downer -vs- Iron Broadway Mike& Toronto’s scandal-plagued Mayor Rob Ford
Downer asked, “Some of your critics would say, ‘There’s a race for mayor. We know you’re a convicted rapist. This could hurt his campaign.’ How would respond to that?”
·   ·   ·
Mike Tyson completely lost-it on Canadian TV — complete transcript of the epic verbal spat between Tyson and CP24 anchor Nathan Downer.

Downer: "Some of your critics would say, you know, there is a race for mayor, we know you're a convicted rapist, this could hurt his campaign. How would you respond to that?
Tyson: "Hey, um, I don't know who said that, you're the only one I heard say that. You know what I mean? And I don't have no comment to that. You know because it's negative and you're being negative and I met, I met the mayor and nothing they can do about it."
Tyson promoter Alex Choko: "We actually had a really good time, we talked about George Chuvalo, who is a legend in your city, a great man, with whom Mike spent quite a bit of time yesterday talking about his life, highs and lows..."
Tyson: "It's so interesting that you come across as a nice guy but you're really a piece of shit. With that comment"

FLASHBACK: Tyson calls Downer negative before saying, “It’s so interesting, you come off like a nice guy,” then insulting the anchor with a string of profanity.
Downer: "Hey, come on."
Tyson: "Fuck you, that was a piece of shit."
Downer: "You know what, we're doing live TV here."
Tyson: "I don't care. What are you going to do about it?"
Downer: "Alright, you got a show that you're doing tonight."
Choko interrupting: "We are. We are. it's raw and it's the real thing. It's the truth"
Downer: "A lot of people are going to be there to see your show. Just tell us a bit about it."
Tyson: "You know, it speaks for itself. Everyone saw the show."
Choko: "It's a Broadway production. It went to Vegas. It went to actually 28 cities in the United States and we're really, really proud to bring it here. We're actually going to Monaco on October 9th. We're going to be in Monte Carlo."
Downer: "Is it nerve-wracking for you to do something like this, or is it more nervous for you to box? How does it compare?"
Tyson: "I don't know, um, it's more nerve-wracking to be here talking to a rat piece of shit like you."

Downer: "Come on Mike."
Tyson: "You know, because you're a piece of shit.
Downer: "Alright..."
Tyson: "You really (inaudible) piece of shit."
·   ·   ·
Tyson served three years of a six-year sentence in the 1990s for raping a teenage beauty-pageant contestant.
In a tweet after the incident, Downer said it was unfortunate that his question hurt Tyson’s feelings and that that wasn’t his intention.
“I’m okay everybody,” Downer tweeted.
Downer apologized for the language and followed that up with another tweet.
“No ill will toward Mike Tyson. He lashed out at me and that’s okay. Not taking it personally.”·   ·   ·

Downer: "We're going to wrap up this interview. Thank you for coming in."
Tyson: "Fuck you."

Modern Day Bromance — Devin Hester Breaks Deion Sanders' NFL Career Return Touchdown Record & Share A Moment On TV

Atlanta Falcons receiver Devin Hester broke Deion Sanders' long-standing record for "most return touchdowns" and he did so in style. Hester set the new NFL record with the 20th touchdown return of his career when he brought back a second-quarter punt 62 yards for a TD in a 56-14 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Devin Hester and Deion Sanders: It's A Love Fest, Man [Video]

Devin Hester may have broken Deion Sanders' record for most punt returns for a touchdown Thursday night, but there's no rivalry at all between the two men.

Quite the opposite, actually. Hester refers to the Hall of Famer as his mentor; Sanders calls the longtime Chicago Bear who now plays for Atlanta his baby.

Hester tucked his hand behind his ear and high-stepped into the end zone, Deion-style, during his record-breaking 56-yard return during the second quarter against Tampa Bay -- all under Sanders' No. 21 jersey banner at the Georgia Dome with Prime Time himself in attendance as part of the CBS broadcast crew.

After the Falcons' 56-14 blowout win, during which Hester also scored on a 20-yard run, the receiver/return specialist joined Sanders and company on the air.

It was a complete love fest between Hester and Sanders -- NFL style, of course. There were plenty of tears, embraces and professions of love, but with the word "man" sprinkled in at least a dozen times (plus one "dude" just to keep us on our toes), and all against the backdrop of a rowdy crowd chanting Hester's name and being, well, rowdy.

Still, a pretty touching scene between two of the all-time greats.

"I love you, dude," Sanders said to Hester. "And I'm so proud of you, man, I'm so proud of you. You know that."

Hester told Sanders: "You've always been there for me, man, and I just, I look up to you, man. I really do, man. I really do. I really do." — Chuck Schilken | Los Angeles Times

Better Ingredients, Better Pot Brownie by Amasing

Better Ingredients, Better Pot Brownie

Whether you agree with the legalization of marijuana or not, two states in our union have legalized it for recreational use (as opposed to medical).  Washington State and Colorado have legalized this still federally banned substance in hopes to generate state revenue (with both having reported an increase in).

We all (I would think), have heard the slogan, “Better ingredients, better pizza…Papa John’s.”

What the hell does pizza have to do with weed?  The obvious answer would be the munchies.

It is well known in the advertising industry that celebrities statistically, by endorsing the product or service, have increased the sales of that product or service.  In this case, Peyton Manning is happy for the increase in pizza sales due to the legalization in Colorado.

"There's some different laws out here in Colorado," Manning said. "Pizza business is pretty good out here, believe it or not, due to some recent law changes."-Peyton Manning.

Papa John’s Pizza is a franchise and like other franchises (McDonalds, Midas, etc.), they can be privately owned.  Manning owns 21 Papa John’s in the state of Colorado.  It should be no surprise that he is in the Papa John’s commercials.  He is getting the best of both worlds.  He gets a celebrity fee and he gets to advertise for his pizza chain.

It should be noted that the biggest sellers in both legalized states is not marijuana itself, it’s food products made with marijuana.

“Legalize it, don't criticize it.  Legalize it, yeah, yeah, and I will advertise it”-Peter Tosh.

Justin Bieber's One-Arm Pull-Up

"Dood!"

Biggie Smalls' “I Got A Story To Tell” Was True — John Starks Hints

“Excellence is my presence. Never tense, never hesitant.” – The Notorious B.I.G.

Which Member Of The Knicks Did Biggie Rob On “Story To Tell”?

In the history of classic rap songs there have been cliff hangers, mistakes and oddities that fans have argued over at the barbershop and on message boards for years. (Like what was Tip REALLY saying on the hook to “Electric Relaxation”?).
“That wasn’t me. First and foremost, I’m not even 6’5”. I’m 6’2” actually,
so it couldn't have been about me,” said Starks. “I know who it was
about, but I’m not going to say. I can’t tell you.”
One of my favorites to debate was “Which member of the New York Knicks did Biggie rob on ‘Story To Tell.'”  from Life After Death, released on March 25th 1997. To be clear, no one is advocating armed robbery or is suggesting that the late Christopher Wallace actually committed the crime he rhymed about (though he was known to smack a rapper on request).  But even one of his boys asked on the song who was the “vick” and Biggie answered dismissively, “One of them 6’5″ n*ggas.”
Using the clues in the song and that one factoid shared by The Notorious B.I.G. we have solved the “mystery” of which member of the Knicks had his 401K snatched up from under the floorboards  by Big Poppa in “I Got A Story To Tell.”
The sh*t she kicked, all the sh*t’s legit
She get d*ck from a player off the New York Knicks
N*gga tricked ridiculous, the sh*t was plush

This establishes who he was violatin’. Notorious B.IG.’s Life After Death was recorded between September of 1995 and January of 1997. So that is the window of time we’re starting with.
We f*cked in his bed, quite dangerous
I’m in his ass while he playing against the Utah Jazz

Assuming this happened in NY, the New York Knicks played the Utah Jazz at The Garden on November 12, 1995. This was the only time the Jazz played the Knicks on their home court all season. So even if you want to debate the who, this is definitely the day somebody got the bedroom intruder treatment.
My 112, CD blast, I was past
She came twice I came last, roll the grass

**112’s debut CD was released in August of 1996, but was recorded between 1995 and 1996. Did Biggie have an advance? Very possible. If Big Poppa was rolling around with theme music to smash to (remember it was HIS 112 CD) chances are it was CD-R written on with a sharpie from the studio.
I’m up in this b*tch player this b*tch fucking run them old Knick ass n*ggas and shit,
I’m up in the spot though. One of them six-five n*ggas, I don’t know.

Ok, here is the one clue that can help narrow down the suspects. The Knicks roster from 1996 to 1997 listed two players at 6’6″;Allan Houston and Larry Johnson–no one at 6’5″. However, during the 1995-1996 season there was only ONE player listed at 6’5…Hubert Davis.

John Starks admits Biggie's "I got a story to tell" is a true story

During the aforementioned game in November of ’95 Hubert Davis only played for 9 minutes, scoring 4 points on one bucket and two free throws. Davis was a 3-pt specialist that averaged 10pts per game that season. This subpar performance makes “The Maestro” the most likely Knickerbocker to leave the locker room early after the game and head home to be consoled  by his wife. Boy was he wrong.
If you have a more plausible answer hit me on twitter @JLBarrow. R.I.P. Biggie… — Jerry L. Barrow | The Urban Daily

How To Network — Without Being A Scumbag

How To Network Without Feeling 'Dirty'

It’s likely everyone has met someone who bears no shame in using intrusive networking habits. Like the type of person who enters conversations with the sole purpose of explaining how great he is and then exits without showing even a glimmer of curiosity about the people who listened to his drawn-out monologue about his accomplishments. Or the person who asks virtual strangers to put in a good word for him as he hands out business cards like they’re autographed copies of a rare baseball card.
Unfortunately, some people approach networking as if other people should leap at the opportunity to host their parasitic intentions. This cringe-worthy behavior leaves many people with a bad taste in their mouths when they think about networking.
If the thought of handing out business cards at a tradeshow or the mention of attending social hour at a convention turns your stomach, you’re not alone. A new study in a forthcoming edition of Administrative Science Quarterly found that the notion of networking leaves some people feeling physically dirty and morally impure.
The researchers discovered that people with more power are less likely to report feeling dirty when they network. It’s not clear whether people who rise to the top do so because they benefited from networking, or if they feel more comfortable with networking because they’re already in a position of power. But one thing is certain – people in a position of power network more often.
This sets up an interesting dynamic. The people who could benefit most from developing beneficial relationships – those who haven’t reached the top rungs of the corporate ladder – aren’t as likely to engage in networking activities because it makes them feel dirty.
Strategies To Reduce The Schmoozing “Ick” Factor
The unscrupulous feelings that get conjured up when thinking about schmoozing derive from the idea that networking is selfish. Asking someone in a position of power to add you on LinkedIn or to share all their business secrets with the sole purpose of advancing your career may feel somewhat reprehensible. But, you don’t need to compromise your values to get ahead.
Rather than avoid meet-and-greet opportunities because it makes you feel dirty, change the way you approach networking. Instead of using people to gain professional advancement, turn networking into an opportunity to form mutually beneficial relationships. Here are some strategies that can help you feel feel more comfortable about networking:
1. Think about what you have to offer, not just what you want to gain. If you only view networking as a self-serving promotional tool, you’re likely to feel a little sleazy. Before you approach your next networking opportunity, think about what you can give, not just what you want to gain. Everyone has skills, tips, and strategies that can help others.
2. Recognize the value in networking with your peers. Networking doesn’t have to be about trying to impress those above you on the corporate ladder. Instead, you can network with your counterparts. Developing relationships with peers who can offer advice and assistance can reduce isolation and improve job satisfaction. After all, your peers are the people who can truly relate to the challenges you face on a daily basis.
3. Participate in professional organizations. Joining professional organizations provides opportunities to learn about changes in business trends and gain education that can improve your performance. Events and meetings within professional organizations lead to natural networking opportunities. Joining a professional organization may open the door to finding a mentor or it may give you a chance to mentor someone else.
4. Network with people outside of your profession. Don’t limit networking to people within your profession. You may learn the most effective social media tips or discover the most useful customer service strategies from people with a completely different outlook. Whether you network with customers or you attend a workshop focused on personal development, meeting and greeting people with a different perspective can open your eyes to new opportunities. Focus on getting to know people and hearing about what they do and you’ll begin networking naturally.
5. Focus on sharpening your networking skills. Instead of measuring your networking success by how many LinkedIn connections you made or how many newsletter subscribers you gained, consider success to be any opportunity that sharpened your networking skills. You can greatly improve your networking skills with practice, as long as you’re open to learning.
Networking may be more important than ever in a world where many workers are fairly isolated. Salespeople are often on the road more than they are in the office. Telecommuters have fewer opportunities to interact face-to-face. Increased freelancing means many people don’t maintain long-term relationships with companies.
Throughout the past decade, research studies have shown benefits of networking range from improved job satisfaction to increased organizational commitment. But the benefits aren’t just professional – networking can also serve as a proactive approach to personal growth and development.

Changing the way you think about networking will change the way you feel about it and the way you approach making new connections. Look for opportunities to speak with people who do really cool things, and if the conversation happens to provide you with an opportunity that could advance your career, consider it a bonus. In the meantime, make sure you have plenty of interesting tidbits, anecdotes, and strategies to share with others. Sharing information that can benefit others will help you walk away from a conversation without feeling dirty. — Amy Morin | Forbes

GRAPHIC WARNING: ISIS Beheadings [EXPLICIT VIDEO]

ISIS Beheads U.S. Journalist — James Foley

WARNING GRAPHIC: Video surfaced late Tuesday that purportedly shows Islamic militants beheading an American journalist in response to U.S.-led airstrikes in Iraq. James Wright Foley, who once worked for the Defense Department's Stars and Stripes newspaper, among other outlets, was killed by militants affiliated with the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, the al-Qaida inspired Islamic group that controls portions of Iraq and Syria, according to video posted on social-media websites. The news was later reported by other news and intelligence organizations. In the almost 5-minute segment, entitled, "A Message to America," Foley is wearing an orange shirt and pants and pleads with his family members against the U.S. military intervention in Iraq in what is clearly a scripted speech, according to a copy and transcript of the video was posted online by the SITE Intelligence Group, a company that tracks terrorist activity.

ISIS Beheads U.S. Journalist — Steven Sotloff, A Second Message to America

WARNING GRAPHIC: Islamic State extremists released a video posted Tuesday showing the beheading of a second American journalist, Steven Sotloff, and warning President Barack Obama that as long as U.S. airstrikes against the militant group continue, "our knife will continue to strike the necks of your people." The footage - depicting what the U.S. called a sickening act of brutality - was posted two weeks after the release of video showing the killing of James Foley and days after Sotloff's mother pleaded for his life. Barak Barfi, a spokesman for the Sotloff family, confirmed the death. In the video distributed Tuesday and titled "A Second Message to America," Sotloff appears in a similar jumpsuit before he is beheaded by a fighter with the Islamic State, the extremist group that has claimed wide swathes of territory across Syria and Iraq and declared itself a caliphate. The organization threatened to kill another hostage, this one they identified as a British citizen.
