The star - whose life and career with the pioneering hip-hop group is being portrayed in new movie Straight Outta Compton - has admitted Axl Rose helped him see that they had made it.
Asked when he first knew they were more than local stars, he told Billboard: "When I saw Axl Rose wearing an N.W.A cap in one of his videos."

DID YOU KNOW?
Although the beef between Guns N' Roses and Nirvana has been heavily documented, Rose was initially a big fan of Nirvana — and even asked the revolutionary Seattle grunge band to play w/ them on a couple of occasions during their Use Your Illusion Tour.
However, Cobain detested Guns N’ Roses — he loathed their rock star antics and what they stood for, and declined the offer. Although both bands were signed to Geffen Records, the disdain for one another continued to grow and their beef became stuff of rock legend.
